Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is a American television journalist, commentator and anchor for NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language and culture from University of Pennsylvania. In 1967 Mitchell became a reporter for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. 1976 Mitchell became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). Two years later she became a general reporter for NBC News in Washington. Beginning in 1981, she began working for the White House and became chief of the congressional reporter in 1988. She was promoted to Chief White House correspondent in 1992 and chief foreign affairs reporter in 1994 for NBC News in 1994. Mitchell appeared as both a host and panelist in the TV news program Meet the Press. She was part of a panel discussion at the 1988 presidential debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell received the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 she was awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began reporting on in the White House in 1981-1988, in both the Reagan presidency. She has covered several notable stories over time, including budget reform, tax reform and the Iran Contra scandal. She travelled extensively together with Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
